How to Connect Canon Printer to WiFi?

* WPS PIN

Standard Method

* Automatic

  1. By clicking the power button, you have to turn on your printer. 
  2. Now, if you are getting the blank LCD screen of your printer, then you have to press the “Copy” button which is located in the four-button panel. This will be at the top of the printer. 
  3. Then, click the “Menu” button from the printer’s control panel. 
  4. Further, using the navigation keys you have to choose the “Wireless LAN/WLAN Setup” option to connect your printer to the WiFi. 
  5. After that, press the “Ok” button from the control panel.
  6. From the list of Wireless Setup methods, choose the “Standard Setup” option using the navigation keys. Then, press the “Ok” button. 
  7. Now, the surrounding wireless networks will be identified on your screen.
  8. Then, select the preferred network to connect with your printer using the navigation keys. Press the “Ok” button after selecting. 
  9. Afterwards, for successfully connecting the network to your printer, you have to enter the password. For entering the password, you first have to press the “Ok” button. Then, carefully enter the password. 
  10. Once you are done with this, click the “Ok” tab to complete the network configuration. 
  11. After the successful completion of the process, you will receive a completion message on your screen. Now, you have to conclude the process by pressing the “Ok” button. 

* Manual

  1. Begin the network configuration by turning your printer on. Press the power button of your printer. 
  2. Then, press the “Menu” button which is available on the control panel.
  3. From the menu, select the “Network Settings” option. For this, you have to use the navigation keys. Then, press “Ok”.
  4. After that, choose the “Wireless LAN Settings” option and press “Ok” to move further.
  5. Then again press the “Ok” button. 
  6. In the next window, you will get a list of various wireless LAN settings options. Move down the list using the navigation keys and select the “SSID Settings” option. Now, press “Ok”.
  7. Further, you have to select “Manual Settings”. To proceed further, press “Ok”.
  8. Thereafter, Canon asks you to enter the SSID of your router. SSID is the name of your router and consists of 32 characters. 
  9. After entering, press “Ok”.
  10. Then, select the “Encryption” type and press “Ok”.
  11. Next, you have to select the encryption type or authentication method. After entering, press “Ok”.
  12. Afterwards, enter the password that is used for securing your wireless connection. 
  13. Finally, press the “Ok” tab to complete the connection process. 
  14. You can check the status of your printer connection through the wireless lamp which is located on the printer. Once the connection gets successfully established, the wireless lamp will stop blinking and remain lit. 

Cableless Method

  2. Then, you are required to turn your printer on by pressing the power button. The power lamp of the printer will lit green when the printer is on.

  4. Once the screen is on, you have to press the “Setup” button from the four-button panel that is located on the top of your printer.

  6. Further, using the arrow keys, choose the “Other Setup” option. Then, press the “Ok” button.
  7. In the next window, select the “Cableless Setup” option followed by pressing the “Ok” button. 
  8. This will start searching for your wireless network and establish a connection with it.
